15 minutes of Fame

Novak Djokovic was on CBS’60 Minutes last night. He is truly enjoying his 15 minutes of fame. Here is the link for those who haven’t seen it.

To tennis fans out there, nothing that was said here was new. I am actually surprised they didn’t talk about how he learned to play in a dried out swimming pool (sarcasm). But this was a nice moment for tennis, especially in the States right now where there is constant chatter about tennis not being big enough (it’s not, especially compared to NBA, NFL, NHL, and MLB); and it doesn’t help that there are no “big presence” American players (we’ll touch on this again soon, this post is on Novak’s 15 minutes). Enjoy the clip!

Tennis Podcast- Jon Wertheim/Andy Murray -

I love Jon Wertheim’s Tennis Mailbag. He is a great tennis writer, with good insight. Sports Illustrated has come out with a new podcast on tennis that Wertheim hosts. Here is this week’s podcast with Andy Murray and Jon Wertheim.

Murray usually seems like a downer of a person, but for once I liked him in this interview, he seems a lot more personable and somewhat more talkative.
